Vacation Pics…but not a lot

Ok, I survived our trek to the glorified campground resort. I was so damned busy keeping track of kids and entertaining TheMan that the time just flew by. I did force Lil’ Sisto go on a hike with me- and TheMan insisted he go too. That was fun. We went up this really steep hill, it was humid, and there were huge mayapples everywhere. I loved it. They hated it. Somehow we found a logging road and they made me follow that. Now, this is just a shitload of mud with the biggest tire tracks you ever did see. And, of course, that made it all the more rough. Hello! Wouldn’t it be easier to navigate the trees than to navigate the ditches made by God’s tires? Apparently not. I have money that says TheMan was secretly afraid that Jason was going to pop out of those woods and he wanted to be able to find a get away quick. Very comical.

We didn’t do much else. They had a barbecue dinner that I didn’t attend (dog sitting) and from what they say it sucked big ol’ donkey balls. The girls went swimming a lot. And Baby danced with other little toddler girls at the Clubhouse dance thing. That was very cute. Also, the dog ate some horse shit. It was disgusting.

Check out the pics after the jump. *Warning: Heavy Pageload!*

Here’s the front of our “Chalet”. It actually was pretty decent for a cabin. At the front of the pic is the bridge from the road. There’s a tiny stream big gulley underneath, but I forgot to get a picture. My bad.

I was coming out of the woods with the dog and noticed this. So, I took Mr. Shitsalot back to the cabin and came back to snap away. It took me a while to get this good of a shot. The mama bird was giving me the stinkeye. I’m pretty sure she had convulsions from all the flashes.

This is what “the grounds” looked like from our cabin. The hill you see in the distance actually has the Clubhouse, Crow’s Nest and a huge RV camp grounds.

This is me facing the other way from our porch. That’s the way to the woods. Don’t worry, there were more hillbillies than bears.

Here is Lil’ Sis, Baby, Otis (on the steps of the porch) and TheMan’s legs (on the bridge).

I was standing in the living area of the cabin and took this shot of the kitchen. To the right is the front door, to the right is the bathroom and 2d bedroom door, not seen is the master bedroom and, of course, the living area (with t.v. and pull-out sofa). It really was pretty comfortable.

Morning mist
The foothills of the Appalachian mountains early in the morning. When I was taking this picture the guy from next door, still drunk from the night before, asked if The General Store was open. He needed more beer. Dude! Coffee! Anyway, it was otherwise very quiet and very gorgeous.

And that, my dears, is all I have for you right now.
