Here it is, 7:30 am and I’ve been up for an hour and a half. I know, you’re asking yourself “Why the fuck do I care what time you woke up, bitch?” Well, Baby didn’t sleep well last night (actually, it was a forever fight to get her to bed) and then she was screaming to come down stairs as soon as I woke Lil’ Miss up for school (Yay! The first day!). I have been using the last hour to ingest massive amounts of hot tea (intravenously) to try to wake up. I don’t do mornings, people. I should’ve been able get my eldest some breakfast, kiss her out the door, and crawl my happy ass back in bed for two more hours. I am not pleased with this morning’s progression.
Two of my favorite summer shows (well, for this summer anyway) have wrapped up this past weekend. “MeerKat Manor” was kind of disappointing because Shakespeare was missing and we didn’t get to find out if he lived or died. What am I talking about? Well, follow the link. It’s a really cute, and surprisingly dramatic, documentary series about meerkats. Columbia University researchers have been following this particular family of meerkats for 10 years and so we get very up close and personal with them. The worst thing about the show was watching one of the pups get left behind to die in the hot sun. Very sad.
“The 4400” season ended last night. I’m not going to go into any kind of detailed explanation about the back story, characters, etc, so if you haven’t seen it before then check out the link to see what’s up. Anyway, last night Isabelle went crazy and started killing people at The Center so her dad had to give her “the shot”. Of course, I thought for sure it would kill her (the future elders said it would, afterall) but it didn’t. She got up and went after her dad. Everyone thought for sure that was the end of ol’ Richard, but it seems that the shot took away all of Isabelle’s abilities. Ha! They should’ve given her the shit when they first got it. Anyway, I’m not sure what Jordan Collier’s plan is, but it has something to do with making everyone have 4400 “abilities”. It sucks because I have to wait for next season to find out. Then at the end Alana got sucked back up in the sky (back to wherever she was when the 4400 were gone). I wonder what that’s all about, though I’m sure she’s not dead. Anyway, the finale was better than some I’ve seen in my time. I’d highly recommend watching it when it airs again (probably 400 more times in the next month).
Gods, I suck at reviews, or whatever you want to call what I just wrote. In the time it’s taken me to write this drivel Baby has interrupted me a good 34 times, to play with her new doll house, to turn on “A Bug’s Life”, to hide under the table, etc, etc. She’s telling me to “Come on, Mommy” right now. Good grief. Is it naptime yet? Because I could sure use one.
Too Early for me
