Well, I’m back from my surgery uncomfortable, a little drugged, and looking like DH socked me a good one[1]. So, if anything I write today doesn’t make any sense, please try to forgive me. It’s really not my fault. This time.
This evening I officially begin my stint as a volunteer for the Zack Space[2] campaign. Little Miss and I are going to be walking in the St. Patrick’s Day parade and handing stuff out. I know, you’re jealous because you can’t have all that fun. Afterwards there’s going to be a fundraiser at DH’s VFW post. I’m not too thrilled about that because I’ve been there and there’s probably better places to hold these kinds of things. But, that’s ok. We won’t be staying long. I mean, the reason I’m volunteering is because we don’t have any money. I’ll be ducking out when the basket starts going around for checks…lol.
Today I would like to honor my great-grandmother, Anne Reynolds Malloy, who birthed my grandfather, William Malloy. They came over here in the mid-40′s, so I could, technically, actually be Irish.[3] My mom’s sister has duel citizenship, even though she was born in Columbus, OH (my mother couldn’t care less). My Irish friend, Adrien, says that my family are the Irish version of hillbillies[4]because they’re from County Cork. I say, great, I’m a hillbilly in two countries.:)
Enough of the family history crap (until October when I remember my German grandfather…ha!). Today everyone is Irish, so have fun, dance, and try not to drink too much. If you go to a bar, please be considerate and don’t drink and drive. I’d hate to see that you’ve killed an innocent family of 5.
